Product Advisory

Product Advisory

A product that isn't selling is rarely a mystery. We find the reasons and give you a clear plan to fix them.

The problem

The product is usually not the problem

When a product underperforms, the instinct is to blame the product. Usually that's not where the problem is. More often it's a listing that doesn't convert, positioning that doesn't land, a price the market reads wrong, or promotion that never reached the right people. Frequently it's several of these at once.

The hard part isn't fixing these things. It's knowing which ones are actually costing you sales, and in what order to address them. That's a diagnosis problem, and it's what we do.

The engagement

A Product Performance Review

We offer this as a defined, fixed-scope engagement rather than open-ended consulting. You know exactly what you're getting and what it costs before we begin.

The Product Performance Review is a structured diagnostic of your product and how it's being sold. We examine the full picture, from the listing and positioning to pricing, competitive context, and promotion, and identify specifically what's holding the product back.

Pricing: The review is offered at no cost.

Turnaround: Usually within five business days.

What you get

A written diagnostic you can act on immediately

You leave knowing exactly what's wrong and exactly what to do about it.

  • A clear teardown of where the product is losing sales and why
  • A prioritized action list that tells you what to fix first, second, and third, ranked by likely impact
  • Recommendations specific enough to act on the same day
  • A plain assessment of whether the product's problem is fixable, and how hard the fix is

How it works

Four steps from stalled to a clear plan

  1. You share the product

Listing links, sales context, pricing, and anything you've already tried.

  2. We diagnose

We work through the full picture systematically, the same way we'd assess one of our own products.

  3. We deliver the review

A written teardown and a prioritized, ranked action plan.

  4. You decide the next step

Take the plan and run it yourself, or have us execute the fixes and bring our marketing and advertising network to bear.

Who this is for

Anyone with a real product that should be selling

This is for anyone with a real product that should be selling and isn't. That's often a seller who suspects the issue is fixable but can't pinpoint it, or a founder who wants a clear-eyed outside read before spending more on a product that's stalling.

Questions

Common questions about the review

How much does the Product Performance Review cost?

The Product Performance Review is free. We deliver the complete written diagnostic first, and any conversation about paid work happens only after you've read it and decided it's worth pursuing.

How long does the review take?

Most reviews are delivered within five business days of our receiving everything we need from you. If a particular product calls for more digging, we'll tell you that up front rather than after the deadline has passed.

What do I get at the end?

A written diagnostic built to be acted on. It sets out where the product is losing sales and why, then turns that into a prioritized list of fixes ordered by the impact we'd expect each to have. It also gives you a candid read on whether the underlying problem is worth solving at all, and how much effort the fix is likely to take, so you can decide where to spend your time and money.

What do you need from me to start?

Your listing links, current pricing, and recent sales history, along with a short account of anything you've already tried to fix. None of it needs to be polished or organized. The more of the real picture we have, the more precise the diagnosis, but we can start with whatever you have on hand.

What happens after the review?

That decision is yours. Many clients take the review and implement the fixes on their own, which is entirely workable since the findings are written to stand alone. If you'd rather we carry some of it out, we'll put together an approach shaped around what you're actually trying to achieve, rather than pushing you toward a predetermined next step.

Is the scope and price the same for every product?

The review is the same defined engagement every time, with the same scope and the same terms, so there are no surprises about what you'll receive. Anything beyond the review is handled case by case, because the right course of action genuinely differs from one product and one objective to the next, and we'd rather scope it honestly than quote a number that ignores those differences.
